Sometimes Friday afternoons are pretty uneventful around here, but that was definitely not the case yesterday. The Steep Canyon Rangers visited our studio to record a show for our Studio Special series. It's slated to premiere on July 18.These guys are a class act. Aside from all being great guys, they are incredible musicians and artists. Their current album, Lovin' Pretty Women, is incredible, of course, but hearing them do some of the songs from that project live in our XM studio was a wonderful experience. "Kuykendall", especially, blew me away. You must hear that performance (and be sure to listen to the show as we discuss the correct pronunciation of "Kuykendall"--it's not what you think!).
The Studio Specials are a joy to do--especially with bands like this one. Thanks for all your nice comments about the series and for listening.
