Check Out This DBL Post

Our Studio Special with the Dixie Bee Liners was written up on The Bluegrass Blog yesterday.

Not to steal the Blog's thunder, but you've got to check out this article. Buddy Woodward makes some interesting insider comments about the show, and you'll also get to see some artwork from J. D. Morrow, the seven-year-old son of Sam Morrow, the DBL's banjo picker.

Don't miss this show...it's a good 'un! The next broadcast is tomorrow [Saturday] morning at 11:00 ET. A complete listing of Studio Special times can be found here.

Hi Kyle,
How're things in Music City? Caught the Dixie Bee-Liners Studio Special this morning on my way into work. Great job treating your listeners to another fine show and interview with a first rate band! I especially like when you ask the artists about their instruments. I learned about Nashville tuning on today's show and may try it out on one of my guitars. As a hobbyist guitarist and mandolin player, I appreciate the fact that you ask many of the same questions that I would ask the artists. Anyway, many thanks for bringiing your listeners and bluegrass fans some of the finest programming on XM radio!
regards,
Marv

Hi Kyle, my name is Bob Sullivan and I live in Maryland. I'am a musician and Pastor. A few years ago my wife bought me a x.m radio for Christmas so I could lisen to it a work,( I also work a full time job that puts me on the road all day. I wanted the radio so I could lisen to classic country, which I grew up on. One day while listening to different stations I came upon Bluegress Junction and never changed the station.I want to thank you for birthing me on the greatist music I have ever heard or played. In my carrer as a musician I have played every kind of style of music there is, but I have found my home in Blugrass. Please keep up the good work .
I was listing to the studio special featuring the Dixie bee liners ( an boy did I enjoy it ) when the though occured to me. how nice it would be if the station could package a few of the studio specials on a cd and offer them to your listners, They would make a great addition to someone's blugerass collection and at the same time the profits could go to start a retirement program to help these artist in their latter years

Thanks, Marv and Pastor Bob for the great posts!

Marv, I appreciate the nice words. I always hope that the shows we do on Bluegrass Junction help folks delve deeper into the music, whether it's through learning some new lick on their own instrument or discovering a new song or artist.

Pastor Bob, thanks to you, too! I get asked all the time about offering the Studio Special (and other shows) on CD and it's a great suggestion! Unfortunately, since we're not really in the business of producing music for sale, there would be too many legal hassles to do it (such as obtaining song licenses, artist clearances, dealing with royalty issues, etc.). We're just not equipped to do that. I'd love to, though, and maybe someday it will be possible.

Thanks for listening, and I look forward to hearing from y'all again.

I really enjoyed the Dixie Bee Liners, I laughed through most of the show, if I said some of the things Buddy did I would be murdered. It is good to listen to people who enjoy life and have a new style that respects the traditional sound, and as always Kyle seems to draw out the best of people. GREAT job Kyle.
